Health and Fitness Concerns

When it comes to our health, it can be difficult to maintain our well being in the modern age. This is because we have it too easy nowadays, and that’s not old age talking; I’m not even thirty. No, it’s pure science. For instance, the prevalence of processed foods and the lack of exercise endemic to the modern lifestyle has created an epidemic of poor health. Where processed foods are concerned, added sugar and salt allow food to be produced for less cost while also making them more addictive to human beings who are hard wired to seek out these two necessary ingredients that are actually quite rare in the wild. Where exercise is concerned, well, it should be obvious. Less and less of us are working jobs that entail manual labor, which was a great simulation of the rigors of living in the wild, both of which kept us fit without having to worry about it or even think about it. Now, however, an abundance of sitting and no natural exercise dictates that we take it upon ourselves to stay fit, or we simply won’t be. However, it’s not as hard as it may seem to turn it all around, and it won’t take much more than what you can get at Walgreens or any other department store.

For starters, replace processed foods with whole foods, fresh ingredients that you’ll use to cook your own meals. This may take extra time and money, but your life and the quality thereof is worth it. When it comes to exercise, you’re going to need to find the right workout routine for you, which can be hard work. However, once you find it, it will be harder to simply stick with it. IT can get frustrating if you can’t keep up, but you have to remember that improvement requires failure, and don’t push yourself too hard and risk injury.
